In the old days players occasionally complained about the schedule and of course all the travel involved. But it was in some interview that was only in an article in a tennis magazine. A magazine only some hardcore tennis fans read. And only the bigger tournaments were broadcast. Then cable and more sports available. And now the players complaining is splattered all over social media that anyone can read on their phone. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of people in the public playing tennis drops even more. The talent pool for the pros could be far less in the near future.
Maybe they need to fix the problem now and get some PR firm to tell them how to voice their opinion without driving away potential future players.
