Tennis is a very mental sport. And it's up to the player and/or his/her coaches to be ready to play from the first point. When, as in this case, one player comes out and is playing like they're totally prepared and the other player can't find a way into the match, and then goes and takes a long break and comes out and plays like it's an entirely different day and wins, that win deserves a big asterisk by it. What's the difference between the covert approach of taking a long bathroom break and the more overt approach of having a meltdown like a toddler like McEnroe used to do? It's not fair to the opponent and the rules should be changed to reflect that simple truth.
