I think the whole point is that the winner earns enough already and it's the lower ranked players that need to get paid better FFS.

The article is misleading, it’s not like Aryna or Jannik are saying they solely need more money, but that from a business revenue standpoint, the main participants ie players need to be the recipients of a higher profit too. Which should also trickle down especially at lower levels and earlier rounds . The player ranked 114 and qualifying gets 90k € yes, before taxes, that will be taxed at close to 50% so that’s 45 k left of which they have to pay for last minute flights out - hotels - food and salaries for the team and themselves, and chances are a lot of players don’t qualify for all 4 slams. Case in point of Maja at the French open who didn’t know how she’d pay the hotel bill, till a well wishing sponsor footed her bill. They may make it to one grandslam and 45k € isn’t shit to take you through life after. The top 40-50 players do alright. It’s an extremely unforgiving sport. They’re absolutely right in their demands.

What is the point of this article?
Africa has twice as many people as Europe. Asia has over 6 times as many. The single largest factor in this in this is the glaring disparity in wealth.
