If you don't work the night shift into the wee hours of the morning, what right do you have to ask these athletes to do that? We watch for the entertainment value. I would rather miss a match during the day than watch one or both of the players play lousy and lose during the next match because the previous one went until one or two in the morning.

The players have to pay significant taxes on the winnings. The real money for the champion comes from sponsors, paid appearances, etc. Which can be many times the tournament winnings over time.
