Yes, he's hurting alright. Alcaraz probably realized even a small percentage of tens of millions of dollars is still a whole lot of money. More money than he thought Ferrero was worth. I'm sure Ferrero also had some endorsements compliments of being Alcaraz's coach that have suddenly disappeared as well. Hope he was being smart with his money while it was pouring in.
Young players need mentors to tell help them stay grounded. Parents and other wise family members and friends, coaches and trainers, older players and such. They need to be told how to keep things in perspective, how fickle fans can be, the pros and cons of social media and how to manage it, how gambling has tainted sports, etc. Older players need to tell teach them how it's normal to get caught up in the fray. And of course to teach them to be reflective. Too look back on their already short life, how they reacted to things in the past that now seem relatively minor compared to the feelings at the time they happened.
