There's only one chance to be a first. Venus has always been a class act but I never forget her historical importance.
Venus is the first dominant African American in the sport of tennis.
Arthur Ashe, Althea Gibson we're great players in their day. But neither rose to the number one status.

Venus is the first African American to be ranked number one in the world. And she was a dominant tennis star winning 4 majors in 15 months time. Even Naomi has not been able to duplicate that!
And Venus has defended multiple majors which is the truest test of a Great. Many players can win majors but can those slams be defended the next year. That takes dominance.
