Verdasco defeated both Thiem and Khachanov today. 6 sets and almost 5 hours on court.
Sometimes it's just not your day and your opponent does his job.
Federer is not tired, he's making mistakes and Coric (who is a very good player) is being solid (and, of course, taking what Roger gives him "for free").
Very bad planning by the organisers, no respect at all for somebody of Federer's stature and experience.. Two matches a day 10 days before a grand slam event is risking burn out and injury
@Nicholas it's a day at RG, but your opponent also needs to play the equivalent amount. Coric is 15 years younger and has had 2 days off. If Fed was honest, he would probably admit he was a bit of an underdog in this match, but he can't be happy with how the first set went given the double-break.
Justin did you see the breaker? He didn't choke, Roger stepped up.
I really thought Coric would clinch this when the breaker was about to begin. Thought Roger looked tired, rightfully after five sets on clay at his age. But as so often with the biggest names they manage to squeeze out the best when it matters the most. Roger WON this match, no matter what haters say. Roger stepped up when it mattered which is simply amazing and so impressive!

Then it's a toss up.
