1st round: 4 sets to an 18yr old kid who started off his GS journey.

2nd round: Griekspoor who played 5 sets in his 1st round victory to barely make it to the 2nd round. And who was he by the way?!

3rd round: Nishikori who played 5 sets to beat that MacDonald guy in the 2nd round. He was making Novak run for his money still in that 1st set!

4th round: Same story?! Another player who won in 5 sets in 3rd round. WC?! Brookswho?!

QF: Berretini already played a 5 setter now. And if he plays another 5 against Otte or worst loses to Otte then how easy of a draw is this to the semi-finals?!

Brooks playing the right game plan to try and beat Novak, and that is just putting the ball back again and again, long rallies. Some years ago it was that strategy that helped (fit) Stan and Murray to beat Novak a few times on GS hard courts.

Question for young Brooks, can he do it for 4 or 5 sets?

It is not that Novak cannot play the long rallies anymore, he can, but I think in terms of getting older, preserving energy, etc, he wants shorter rallies.
