To all of you "fans" Federer "let down" with this defeat, let me define the word fan to you. You're a fan if you support a player regardless of whether they win or lose. If you at least verbally turn your back on them after such a defeat, you're nothing but a selfish disrespectful beholder. Understand that Roger is a human being as well. You cannot expect him to win every tournament up until he retires. He is already far beyond any expectations having won a grand slam and maintaining the top 3 level tennis throughout the whole year at 37. Show some respect.

Fed is playing 1428th match of this career, after 98 titles. At 37 years of age. +218 doubles matches. It's not just an amazing record, it's crazy good. So the fact that he is still playing is awesome. Give him a break.

People always do Vladmir - Roger had a rough few years, but came back. Then Novak, now he is back. They will retire when they are good and ready. I ignore these retire comments for any player.

Well played Coric. Why sad? Roger still made it to the semis. If he loves to play he should keep playing. Coric was the better player and knew he could beat Roger.

Don't know what changes Coric made before this season but it is certainly paying dividends.He is no longer a pusher from the baseline, he has serious heat in his serve and groundstrokes now

Fed easily. Coric not really in great form right now. No tough matches yet. Took 3 to beat Stan. Lost to relatively easier opponents in last two tournaments. No probs for the maestro.
