Fed dint play clay for 3 years and people forgot that hez the same guy who reached 5 RG finals and winning one of them... And he is a champion in Madrid already... Thiem hasn't won any big title on clay still...

Guys keeping aside the differences Gaels match was just incredible because it just shows how hungry Roger is. Nearing 38 up against one of the most terrific shot makers, he just gave it his all and matched toe to toe with Gael's power hitting. Both choked, both played great and in the end Roger held his nerve. How can you not love this?

Regarding the Thiem match, Roger always comes prepared. Thiem is in great form and he might be unbeatable now but when has that ever stopped Roger giving a tough fight.

Historically Roger ended many great runs. Rafas clay streak, Pete's Wimbledon streak, Novaks for mode streak. All these show just one thing, Roger likes challenge and at this stage of his career it's more joyful to compete for Roger. I am a fedfan yet I say it's tough for Roger to win, but he will not be blown away. Thiem will have to earn his win.

Thiem will win easily. Or that's what I predicted when this tournament started. But I think there is something wrong with Federer. He is abnormal. He has a raging fire within him to win more and more and more and....
Compared to that desire, Thiem is nothing. I don't see the fire to win in Thiem, like in Rafa or Roger. That's why they have more slams compared to anyone else. I will bet on the 37yr old to beat Thiem in straight sets.

I think the indianwells loss to thiem will help Roger because now Roger knows what to expect and how to deal with it we saw anderson doing the job last year but failed since then tsisipas doing it in Australia but failed since then and I think same will be the case with thiem. Because unlike djikovic and nadal all this player goes with Roger just with one plan and that works out in one match but Roger is a quick learner and by now he already would have prepared to deal with thiem. All the best Roger go get it. And cong for your 1200 win

If Fed stays consistent, he can win in straight sets. It's in his hands. Thiem kid is no match for our genius. Legend still has the game in him to beat top players. Fingers crossed for the coming matches ?

@vscholz66: Except Roger is not getting old. He seems to be getting younger as his age increases. He is in some form our maestro. Both physically and mentally.

Sathish
How come this guy always plays well against big 3 and lose easily against The others??

This is a ridiculous comment Idemo. They played in a final and semis last year. In Miami and Indianwells Roger reached finals and Novak departed early. I honestly don't know what made you say that. You can be happy Roger lost but immature comments are not appreciated.

Who plays like Roger in today's date... I mean the style.. the variety.. no one serve volley slices angles second serve volley..
Did you see the look on Monfils face in the first set.. he was so not use to such variety of tennis.
He took his time..
Fed is from a different world.. a different generation

Rafa rules
Thiem in straight sets.

Even Roger is in top form.....and I'm sure he must have found some remedy to conquer Novak after 5 consecutive losses

Renaistar
Lol, divij, you are cursing whichever player is in the lead.
Say who you think will lose and they've got it in the bag.

Congrats Prince Charming. Bad luck Fed ??

Jeff West
Theim needed multiple gifts and luck to beat someone who hasn’t played clay in 2 years

Roger never sucked on any surface. He won Roland Garros and stopped Novak's invincibility streak in 2011 on clay. But everyone has to realize that he's a human being just like all the others.

Justin no one gives a shit about u 2... oh wait u r shit... we got to give that to u

@TheFireWraith: Lol. You said the same last match against Monfils. Will the end of the line ever come?!

@chidinwekecf: Fed can beat anybody on any given day. He can beat even Nadal in Roland Garros finals. I simply trust Fed to do the miracle. I am not underestimating Thiem. But Thiem can never beat Nadal in Roland Garros finals. Maybe Djokovic or Fed, only 2 players who can topple the clay God in the finals of Roland Garros.

Fed ll come prepared tomorrow without a doubt but still it's not easy to beat thiem on clay... Fingers crossed for roger tomorrow... if roger plays his best he can beat thiem tomo

Thiem approaches this like a work out - still learning his craft. Fed goes to this on his muscle memory - problem is, he has a lot a lot of memory ?

"Novak is in top form and will sweep pass Roger."

Based on what? Beating Taylor Fritz and Jeremy Chardy? People were saying the same about Thiem because Monfils gave Fed a tough match yesterday, apparently forgetting that La Monf has won more titles this year than Nadal.

Roger plays great in tb, he wins this

C’mon Roger

From 1-3 down to 6-3. Do you remember guys?! I feel it is definitely possible in this match also.

Yeah agree Vam - Roger needed to stay ahead in this set. Prince charming and his younger legs lol. But still - come on Fed ?

Justin I am sure you haven't been to comments today. You just feared Roger would win if you showed up, didn't you?
