This is the most physical match I've seen in quite awhile on the women's side.

Must be nice to fall and get back up like nothing. Ahh to be young again.

Babos may win this set. I don’t think she will, but she most certainly could. Of course, Gauff has many weaknesses still in her game- especially the mental side of it. Obviously she can be forgiven for this. I hate how the commentators (UK) are talking as though this is a foregone conclusion in Cori’s favour... it isn’t

You’re taking the Michael Chang about Gauff’s defence being “Djokovic-esque”, right? No way is she anywhere near that level. I do feel her ability is being wildly inflated due to her age. Right now, I’m really, really not impressed with how she’s playing at all. She took her foot of the gas, let her head go down and- honestly- just got completely outplayed and out-thought by Babos. Ignore the fact that she’s 15 (she’s obviously an incredible talent so don’t ‘@‘ me for that) and actually be objective about what you’re seeing right now. Not that great

Oh no Gauff certainly is something special. She'll win slams, I have no doubt. If nothing else, the way she plays will be enough to blow 99% of the top 100 off the court at any given time. Right now she’s not there, however. People need to keep their expectations in check. Will be interesting to see how she handles this third set as Babos did really switch it on in the second

V, you ought to be a life coach! ?

Agreed Chess. The quality of tennis in this match really isn’t great by any means. I switched over to Collins vs Wozniacki at the end of the second set (of this match) and it was far better

Think timea can do it

Maybe she's just trying to believe, and not downplay the moment, or play coy. So far I have not seen anything that turns me off. I would like to see a teenage break through.
1
christinenelles88
So why not pull for Coco. What does she have to do with Serena's behavior.
1
christinenelles88
Or are you saying she behaves like Serena?
1
christinenelles88
I take her behavior as trying to be in the moment and focused. To each their own. No worries.

It's a big stage for a newbie.
1
christinenelles88
I need to hold judgment until I see something distasteful that turns me off. I can't even fathom what might be going through her little (young) mind now.

christinenelles88
I thought Venus was her idol.
1
christinenelles88
She sure can play tennis, and has had some unbelievable comebacks and a bit of success.

Taylor is sweeeeeeeet. I was less than pleased with Simona today. But Taylor played the right game to beat her. Aggressive at the net every chance she had, and avoiding baseline rallies when she could. I'll live. I like Taylor. Since her splash at the USO. I was there.

Unfortunately I did not. I was streaming the match.
