The best way to judge Simona's form is the way she plays defense (running for every ball is her strength). If she is able to beat a super tough opponent like Osaka, that will tell us if she is 100%. If not, no worries she's got the clay season ahead of her. When she is 100%, she can beat anyone...

Simona's pre-tournament interview was very hopeful, practiced with no pain and able to run on a treadmill...big news...running...she couldn't keep up with Mladenovic at IW because she hasn't run as part of her training since St. Petersburg. That's a very long time for a tennis player.

If she's only just started running again her match fitness is still going to be a bit off the mark. But good news the pain in her kneeis gone. Gonna need good results on the clay to maintain a good ranking. Even if she drops i think she'll work her way back as her fitness levels increase
