No, Konta is not overrated at all. She has risen fron about rank 80 to 13 in the world over a year for a reason.
I would predict for Konta to win, considering she is the better player on better form on her favourite surface.
Konta hasn't reached the top 10 yet as she is still on the rise. Don't forget this time last year she was ranked 68.
Oh come off the whole 25 minute break crap, if it wasn't for her being exhausted due to the conditions she'd have won the second in the same manner and scoreline as the first. She overheated and her circulatory system stopped working properly, causing her to hyperventalate and continuously shake and collapse to the ground where her body shut down. If you were in a grand slam and your body shut down, would you continue and be healthy with only a few minutes to start playing again. At the end of it her health came first and even her opponent Pironkova was good with it.
Bencic as well as Konta, is overrated. BB had some good matches in 2015 and that's why her rank is so high. We'll see how she finish this season @Asian tour. Today suppose Konta to win, but I'm not sure....
Please, Bencic was in the top ten. Dropped rankings due to injuries. Konta hasn't even hit the top ten. And don't forget that 25 minute break. Like seriously... wtf takes 25 minutes? As for Bencic being overrated... no.
Hmm, I agree about BB being overrated too - I think it's more than they both put in disappointing performances against players I'd want them to win against.
I'm no Serena or Federer lover but I'd say I've been spolit by them both winning the majority of the time and so setting my expectation that if a player should win, they will
Thats what i like about the wta. Very competitive matches in early rounds unlike the atp where u have to wait for like the round of 16 for deciding sets
If Bencic was so talented as almost everyone wrote last year after her Eastbourne's victory, she wouldn't get out of top-10 and even top-20 (now she's 26th). In 2015's Wimbledon she achived 4th round, in spite of many people saw her as a winner (look @comments after final with Aga). In 2016 grass season, she achieved only semi in Hertogenbosch, playing in 4 tours. Her defeat with Boserup in 2nd r. of Wimbledon was the last straw that broke the camel's back. She doesn't act like a professional player.
Pironkova was too nice to say anything
And umpire was that incompotent idiот that Vika trashed her back in London Olympic
