Tough draw for Roger here after, 3rd round kyrgios quarter djokovic and semi may be cilic and final again potentially Nadal or delpotro.
This draw reminds me exactly of 2017 AO. But the fact is then he was ranked 19 but now he ranked 2 and yet faces this type of draw.
Now I feel happy for Roger because facing early on tough chalanges and overcoming it makes it easier in the tournament and an easy draw sometimes backfires.
Anyway this was definitely going to be one way in straight sets. I was also happy seeing rogers backhand coming in some sort of form. His backhand winners are amazing to watch.

I don't know....but i can't think a way roger can beat novak here....if novak is back he is gonna start dominating men tour again...??
He will play all the finals winning most of em...and no rafa no fed can stop him

Mr.chess
That French guy looks like he is holding his own against the champ. Roger may go back to Norway if he loses. I will give my expert prediction towards the end of the 3rd set...or maybe the 4th set, not sure yet.

Come on Paire, take a set or 2. I am okay if you even win it.

I am a huge Fed fan. This year the US open center court is soo slow. It is going to take a monumental effort from Roger to do well. Forget about winning. Nadal and Djokovic are the hot favorites.

Mihir
No nadal and Djokovic there. Also roger is nowhere near the level he was at Australian open and IW. Hard to see him getting past qf if he even manages to make it that far

Wow what a rally...

He looked very good against nishioka is first round...

The tougher the better for Roger in fact I feel playing potentially kyrgios in next round is good for Roger before quarter. In fact playing easy matches before quarter will not benifit djokovic much. More over in first round Roger was very much impressive unlike last year and he played very aggressive which is a good sign even produced few magical backhand winners all this signs looks good.

Well some guys are talking as if federer has never beaten novak or as if he is unbeatable. Seeing his first round performance which looked far more less convincing compared to fedal. Let the better man win and federer has all the talent in the world to beat novak time and again.

Exactly Bikash..... Some people r talking as if Novak won every match against Fed or Nadal.... I m sure Fed can beat Novak if he plays well....

Federer silly to gve his serve advantage away, its not like pair dnt have a good serve

By looking at the way Fed is carrying himself on the court, I can see that he wants to win the open. REALLY good sign for Fed fans..

I think Benoit lost his mojo when he lost the platinum blonde Top!!! Lol

Vagrant
The court speed index is the same as in Indian Wells. Roger was 1 point away from the title there... He can do it now.
2
carlandeb89
Allez Benoit!!! Slower court definitely helping him!!

Suddenly Roger starts to make silly errors which he made in cincinati final.

carlandeb89
Benoit under Roger's skin right now...not like him to complain about the crowd!! ?

Is anybody else listening to the US Open radio stream? The color commentator guy sounds senile / blazed out of his mind, it's f-ing hilarious

S. Vamshi
Rogers not looking good....Kyrgios will take him down
2
Divij Gera
No commitment from paire
Looks loose plays good shots sometimes but the other times horrendous stupid shots

Federer fan
Novak's level in d first round wasn't so good either.... Rafa is playing amazing right now.... No doubt abt it...
2
AdamS
Thats normal for Novak

Four TSN channels and none of them shows Roger!
"The end" must be near!
2
chakradhar
From the bottom it has to be novak, considering what happened after cincinnati
