No disrespect to Polona but match quality is very poor... Emma is playing very bad even if the score line says otherwise... clearly struggling with expectations and pressure. And probably being too hard on herself for not being able to replicate that exact form in flushing meadows.
Time for Emma to recall her old coach. He got her to Wimbledon 4th round, final in Chicago and US open winner. Now she can't beat her shadow. Eat humble pie and come back to earth.
She’s not lost yet. Polona has to finish this off which will be an ask with her lack of wins this year. On the other hand Emma hasn’t a lot of experience in long matches.
Polona could I suppose but it’s been a terrible year for her. Emma got beat by an on form Sasnovich in IW so her opponents level shouldn’t be as high today. Hopefully Emma will get back on track 👍
The thing that annoys me is what Greg from prime video said he was comparing her gauff and said gauffs a broken record to Emma where gauff wasn't losing these matches
