Emma was ranked 338 in June, and whatever happens in this match, she'll go to a maximum ranking of 107,or higher of course. She'll noe be ranked high enough to qualify for main draws at the Slams, which will be another challenge, but she's now won 6 games back to back and hasn't dropped a set. Here's hoping she can go even better in New York. What a fabulous girl and fabulous player she is. Did excellent on her 'A' levels too. With As and A*s. Clever, beautiful, skilled and hard working. She deserves all her success and more.
Us men's tennis is as good as finished. Roddick was probably the last guy that actually had potential to win big tournaments. After him it's mostly players who just know how to serve.
The crowd took down Barty they will take out Emma too. It will be interesting to see how Emma copes when the person on the otherside is getting what whe recieved at Wimbledon
I somewhat agree with the Bouchard comparison. However i believe the appeal of Emma comes from Britian being desperate for a tennis star. Bouchard was all about being attractive. The US Open isn't promoting Emma, outside from British tournaments i don't see her getting special treatment
Go Emma, you can do this. I want to see you in the final, perhaps not this year, but soon. This will be a tough match against a US player, so the crowd won't be behind Emma. However, she's amazing, the brightest hope for British women's tennis since forever, better game than Konya, and certainly better mindset! Emma is even better than Watson, Keothavong, Sam Smith, Lucy Arle, even Jo Durie! Plays a bit like Sue Barker in the 70s,but even better. If she manages herself well, she won't go the way of Bouchard or other. Similar players.
