Yep...Jalena wasn't that big last year. She gonna have to ease up on those cheeseburgers n fries.

Elina has such a beautiful serve. And such a smooth game. Especially compared to what Jelena puts out there. And don't get me started on the psychological aspect of the game or the difference in expressions and court presence.

Now, just run away with it, as Jelena will get desperate and start really spraying balls.

You got that right Dr.Tennis...only this morning Jalena stepped on the scale for weigh-in and out came a card that said, "Sorry, only one at a time."

Saw that break back coming. Elena wastes nothing on useless antics. Just plays it all so cool. I so enjoy her game.

This will come down to whoever makes less errors, since they’ll both be going all out. Really hope the winner of this match goes all the way

I just came on to ask when ostapenko got that big and see it's already a topic. Last time a saw her was years ago and she was a stick. Wow

I am surprised that there has been no big girl fights or drama this whole tournament. Usually Ostenpenko is ALWAYS good for a chair umpire cussing out or arguing about points or something. But not this year...she has been pretty mellow lately. We about due for a good old fashion hair pulling girl fight right there on court.

That obviously question about fitness levels has to asked. Jelena Ostapenko is a professional tennis player, right? Her fitness must limit her abilities on the court. Surely it just can't be too much Christmas pudding. There is a big difference between Ostapenko here at AO 2023 in terms of fitness compared to her winning run at French Open a few years ago. What has her team been doing for goodness sake, and how good could she be again with optimal fitness for her body structure.

This is not a Jelena Dokic scenario.

Ostapenko has always been a solid player, however her serve has always been a weak spot that exposed her. Now, it appears that her new coach(thank God her mom is taking a back seat) has spotted that weakness and I can see a clear and distinct improvement in her serve. She is unbeatable at the moment. She'll give Rybakina a run for her money. Monster match ahead!!!

This actually may come down to who serves better as well as error counts. Elena will be the favourite and I think she’ll win but Ostapenko winning isn’t really a big upset.

Flags are confusing again. No white flag for Rybakina? Kazakhstan is as Russian as you can be and all the Soyuz rockets leave from there...they white flag Azarenka from Belarus and it's the same status.
