Read it myself: Special Entry. A player who reached at least semifinal the week before get the chance to enter the main draw without qualifying that would otherwise have been the case for the player. Hope I got it right.

Yes, he was still playing semis and final in Stockholm when there were qualifying matches for this tournament.
