Jack Sock, Unfiltered: "The Alcaraz–Sinner Friendship? Totally Exaggerated!"
The rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner has dominated this 2025 season, with the two players facing each other in the majority of tournaments they entered.
In the latest episode of the podcast Nothing Major, former player Jack Sock believes, however, that the supposed friendship between the two champions is largely amplified by the media and social networks.
"I think Carlos would be more open to it (to a friendship), given his personality. Jannik, on the other hand, seems to be in his own bubble with his entourage.
Generally speaking, I think tennis fans obviously loved the relationship between Roger and Rafa, and the fact that they were good friends. And since they are now retired and no longer here, people want to relive that so much that they are forcing this comparison a bit.
Every week, at every tournament, you go on X (formerly Twitter) and you see: 'Look at the interaction Carlos and Jannik had when they crossed paths on the practice court.'
Just because you high-five someone and smile doesn't mean you are necessarily very close.
Maybe their relationship will evolve over time and with the rivalry, but for now, it's clearly being exaggerated compared to reality. Yes, they are friends, but the idea that they are very close is highly exaggerated."
