Jessica Pegula lost to Aryna Sabalenka this Tuesday at the WTA Finals in three sets. The American has 3 wins over the Belarusian, for 8 defeats.
In comments relayed by Tennis.com, she spoke about her opponent of the day: "I think we have played some really exceptional and memorable matches. I wish I had won more of them. Even my coaches said that we push each other to an incredibly high level when we play each other.
I think she just got angry and started playing very well, which is her usual style. When she really gets angry and yells 'Come on!', it's like she goes to another level.
Today, things didn't go the way I wanted, but she played well."
