You have to beat Sinner or Alcaraz to win a tournament: Taylor Fritz's lucid admission about the new hierarchy in men's tennis

While he ends his season on a disappointment, Taylor Fritz delivered a lucid analysis of the current dominance. "The tour no longer leaves room for surprises. Sinner and Alcaraz have taken over," confides the American.

A finalist in 2024, Taylor Fritz stops at the group stage this year in Turin. The American, world No. 6, was beaten by Alex de Minaur this Thursday (7-6, 6-3), which means elimination from this tournament for him.

In a press conference, Fritz discussed the dominance imposed by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who have won almost everything this year:

"I wouldn't say the tour is conducive to surprises. Before, there was the Big 3, and now we are in the era of the Big 2 with Sinner and Alcaraz.

I think I am a much better player than before, but I have to keep improving to be able to face them, because, to win a tournament, we start from the principle that you have to beat both, or at least one of them.

Carlos Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner
