Djokovic's Professional Tennis Players Association denounces lack of transparency after Sinner's suspension

Created by Novak Djokovic during the Covid-19 pandemic to protect the interests of players on tour, the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) issued a statement following Jannik Sinner's three-month suspension, lashing out at the institutions and their handling of the case:

"Whatever your choice, several things are now clear. The 'system' is not a system. It's a club.

The so-called case-by-case discretion is really just a cover for unfair treatment and inconsistent decisions.

It's not just about different results for different players. It's the lack of transparency. The lack of process.

The lack of consistency. The lack of credibility of all the bodies charged with regulating our sports and our athletes.

The lack of commitment by the ATP, WTA, Grand Slams, ITIA and WADA to reform and create a fair and transparent system for the future.

This bias is unacceptable to all athletes and shows a profound lack of respect for every sport and its fans. It's time to change. And we will make change happen."

That means, if he is guilty, he should have consequences. If not, he shouldn't. What means three months "suspension"? Half guilty? And everything about that "process".

I don't understand this statement... are they saying that they think the penalty was too lenient or that theee shouldn't have been a penalty??

It is way too much for a player who did nothing wrong but WADA had to prove a point after the mess with the Chinese swimmers
