Quoted by Corriere della Sera, Juan Manuel Cerundolo recalled his surprise victory over Jannik Sinner in the second round of Roland-Garros.

"I noticed something strange with his legs"

He remembered his opponent's physical condition and what he told him at the end of the match: "I noticed something strange with his legs; he was moving like he had cramps. The balance of the match started to shift, and I understood that I might have a chance.

The confirmation came in the fourth set: he couldn't recover, and the match turned. He dropped intensity, his shots lost power, and he had trouble running.

"A wonderful feeling"

The only thing I noticed was that Jannik took an energy gel before the match. And I thought to myself: 'He's already thinking about his body, probably because of the intense heat.' Then I focused on what I had to do.

It was a wonderful feeling, I was very happy. At the same time, I understood that this was partly due to the physical difficulties Sinner faced.

He congratulated me. He was very polite and proved to be a great person. I expressed my regret about what happened to him. We have an excellent relationship; we've known each other since we were young because we played in the same categories."

Never took pride in a win over a physically compromised opponent. Cerundolo needs to learn a little humility.
