Sinner and Alcaraz at the Rolex Paris Masters? The tournament director responds

For the first time in nearly 40 years, the Rolex Paris Masters will change venues. Usually held at Bercy, the tournament will now take place at the Paris La Défense Arena for the next ten years.

This choice was detailed by Cédric Pioline, the event director, in an interview reported by Tennis World Italia:

"Without any change on our part, in a medium-term cycle (four or five years), there was a possibility of being downgraded to a 500 or 250-level event. In addition to benefiting from increased capacity, the new tournament site will offer more space on the grounds for players. Bercy was a bit cramped. We simply needed to evolve."

As for the presence of the world's top two players (Alcaraz and Sinner) in Paris, Cédric Pioline was optimistic:

"The thousand ATP points awarded to the winner will carry weight in the battle between the Spaniard and the Italian to finish the season as world number one. The end-of-season schedule with the ATP Finals and then the Davis Cup for them is clearly packed, but we are confident. For Novak Djokovic, it would also be great if he could be there to try to put his name on the honor roll in two different venues."

Interesting to see if the crowds will be there also. Hope the change to the venue is a success for the tournament.
