Sorana Cirstea Reaches Transylvania Open Final, Calls It 'A Dream Come True'
Sorana Cirstea has reached the final of the WTA 250 tournament in Cluj-Napoca. The 35-year-old Romanian, who is playing the Transylvania Open for the last time in her career, could become the first player from her country to win the event this Saturday.
In the past, Simona Halep, Elena-Gabriela Ruse, and Ana Bogdan have all lost in the final. Cirstea easily dominated Daria Snigur (6-0, 6-3) in the semifinals on Friday and will face Emma Raducanu in an attempt to secure her fourth WTA title.
"It's the Best-Organized WTA 250 in the World"
"I am extremely happy to be in the final. It's a dream final for the tournament: it's the best-organized WTA 250 in the world, and we are very proud of this event.
I really wanted to stay here as long as possible this week, and now I will be here until the last day of competition. It's a dream come true. I am very happy to be in the final.
I will always be grateful for everything you have given me this week," Cirstea told the Transylvania Open media after her victory against the Ukrainian player.
