Journalist insists on bullet controversy after Alcaraz warm-up

The ball controversy continues at the start of the 2025 season.

Following in the footsteps of Aryna Sabalenka, journalist German Abril, who closely follows Carlos Alcaraz on the circuit, took the time to show the level of wear and tear on the Rotterdam tournament balls after a 25-minute warm-up session by the world No.3.

By way of comparison, he used a photo of a new ball to show the problem that surrounds these balls.

Alcaraz had mentioned these repeated ball changes between tournaments after his 1st round match:

"I had to adapt. After two or three exchanges, it's harder to be aggressive with the ball. [...] Something has to change."
