"Physically, I'm not worried," reassures Sinner
Jannik Sinner has shown signs of physical weakness lately, marked by cramps and a withdrawal in Shanghai, followed by more cramps during his winning final in Vienna against Alexander Zverev.
Speaking at a press conference at the Rolex Paris Masters, the Italian, however, wanted to be reassuring: he feels fine.
He explains: "It wasn't the same problem at all (his cramps in Vienna). I felt normal. You know, I played five days in a row. The final was very physical. It can happen.
I feel good physically now. A bit tired, of course, after playing five matches in a row and coming here without much time to recover. But I'm happy. I'm happy with how I feel.
I'm recovering better each day. Tomorrow is my first match. I'm very focused and I hope to play good tennis here as well. We'll see how it goes.
But I'm not worried physically. I feel in good shape, also tennis-wise. So I hope to get off to a good start, and then we'll see how it goes."
Sinner will play around 3 p.m. on the Center Court of the Rolex Paris Masters against Zizou Bergs.
