In the latest episode of her podcast, Rennae Stubbs revisited Aryna Sabalenka's meltdown after losing the Australian Open final to Madison Keys.
Just after the handshake between the two players, the world No.1 broke her racket next to her bench, before leaving the court to calm her nerves.
An attitude that displeased Stubbs: "I think the reason she lost it after the match was that she thought Keys' last return was out.
When you see her reaction to his stall, she's basically saying she thought he was out. But it wasn't a good image for her to break the racket.
She's always a good loser under normal circumstances, she's always gracious and was during her speech. But you couldn't take that moment of joy away from Madison."
Or, not to take anything away from Keys performance, Sabalenka has played better and knows if she had brought her A+ game she probably would have won the match. Or, said another way, she choked yet again and was very angry about it.
