Stefanos Tsitsipas was knocked out in the Rotterdam quarter-finals by Mattia Bellucci after a match in which he failed to play his best tennis.
In a press conference, the Greek complained that the scheduling of his quarter-final was against him:
"Recovery time was a bit short, I have to admit. And having to play at this hour was a bit surprising.
I could have imagined playing at 6 or 7pm. Those few extra hours would have helped.
There were a lot of strange things about the schedule for this tournament. For example, having two days off after my first round, which lasted about 1h15.
It was fast, I felt fresh after my match, and then I had to wait two days to play my next opponent. It's bizarre. It's very weird and unnecessary.
I don't need two days off. Even one day is a lot."
