Mpetshi Perricard reaches Brisbane semi-finals and awaits Djokovic

Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard defeated Jakub Mensik 7-5, 7-6 in the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 Brisbane.

The Frenchman never wavered, never having to save a break point.

In the semi-finals, he will face the winner of the match between Reilly Opelka and Novak Djokovic. Mpetshi Perricard spoke at a press conference on Thursday about the possibility of facing the Serb.

He declared: "It would be a good match if I were to play him. He's one of the best players in the world, and it's always impressive to see him in the locker room.

If one day I play against him, I have to put all that aside and concentrate on my game. After all, it's just a tennis match."
