Sabalenka wins Brisbane title
Aryna Sabalenka triumphed over Polina Kudermetova in the final of the WTA 500 in Brisbane. After losing the first set 6-4, the Belarusian corrected the situation to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
The win gives her an extra point's lead over world No.2 Iga Swiatek.
The X Jeu, Set et Maths account relayed a very telling statistic: Sabalenka has won 27 of her last 28 matches in Australia.
54 sets were won and only 4 lost, with a record of four titles and one final.
Her opponent of the day, Polina Kudermetova, will return to the top 100 at the end of this week, in 57th place, but will still have to pass through the Australian Open qualifiers.
She will face Susan Bandecchi.
