Andreescu postpones start of 2025 season

Bianca Andreescu, winner of the 2019 US Open, has so far never been able to match the form she displayed during that impressive fortnight in New York.

Handicapped by numerous injuries, the 24-year-old Canadian is hoping for a 2025 that will enable her to return to the forefront.

Registered for the Auckland tournament, which starts on December 30, Andreescu has withdrawn for personal reasons. A withdrawal that will not allow her to prepare in the best possible conditions before Melbourne.

However, according to the Canadian media, her participation in the Australian Open is not in doubt for the time being.
