Halep invited to take part in Auckland tournament

Simona Halep continues her comeback operation on the WTA circuit. Back after being suspended for doping in Miami last March, the Romanian has received some excellent news in the last few hours.

The former world number 1 has been invited by the Australian Open organizers to take part in the qualifying rounds of the Australian Grand Slam.

As luck would have it, Halep will also play in the WTA 250 tournament in Auckland before heading to Melbourne.

From December 30 to January 5, the two-time Grand Slam winner will be in New Zealand, where she will be joined by Madison Keys, Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu.
