WTA 250 Osaka: Draw Revealed, Naomi Osaka's Path to the Title Set

The draw for the Japan Open promises an exciting week in Osaka.

While the Asian tour has just concluded on the ATP circuit, WTA tournaments continue in Asia. The 14th edition of the Japan Open will be held in Osaka.

The tournament belongs to the WTA 250 category. Naomi Osaka will be positioned as the favorite of the week, being the No. 1 seed in the draw. She will start against wildcard Wakana Sonobe, followed by a second round against Suzan Lamens or Emiliana Arango and a potential quarterfinal against Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.

In the bottom half of the draw, it's Linda Noskova, recent finalist at the Beijing tournament, who is the No. 2 seed. She will play against Katie Boulter in the first round before a potential quarterfinal against Marie Bouzkova.

Also notable in the draw are the two Canadian players Leylah Fernandez and Bianca Andreescu. They will start respectively against Hailey Baptiste and Viktorija Golubic.

Last year, the tournament was won by Suzan Lamens, currently ranked 59th in the world.
