Being at the Big 3's table": Alcaraz opens up about his ambition to make history

Being at the Big 3's table: Alcaraz opens up about his ambition to make history

"23 Grand Slams, that's serious business." In one sentence, Alcaraz has reminded everyone of the extent of his ambitions. While he is prioritizing Melbourne, the world No. 1 does not hesitate to express his desire to go after the records of Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal.

At 22 years old, Carlos Alcaraz already has six Grand Slams to his name, having won Roland-Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open twice each. The Australian Open is therefore the only Major missing to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Unsurprisingly, Melbourne will be the world No. 1's main goal in 2026, as he stated yesterday on the show El Partidazo de COPE:

"In 2026, I would prefer to win the Australian Open rather than win two Grand Slams in a row."

The Spaniard was also asked about his desire to get closer to the Big 3's records:

"I would sign for 23 Grand Slams. Of course, I want to be the most decorated player, I want to surpass Djokovic and his 24 Grand Slams. But 23, that's serious business.

It's a goal for the end of my career: to be on the level of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Djokovic, and for people to consider that I also deserve to be at their table.
