Unique: Sinner Becomes the Only One to Achieve This Feat at the Masters Since 1970
Jannik Sinner has just written a page that no one had ever written before, thanks to his victory over Ben Shelton (6-3, 7-6) in the group stage of the ATP Finals.
Since 1970, no legend, not Federer, not Nadal, not Djokovic, had managed what the Italian has just accomplished: winning three consecutive group stage matches without conceding a single set, two years in a row.
A record that seemed almost impossible given the high level of the Masters tournament. But this year, Sinner did it: De Minaur (6-3, 6-4), Fritz (6-4, 6-4), Medvedev (6-3, 6-4) in 2024 and Auger-Aliassime (7-5, 6-1), Zverev (6-4, 6-3), Shelton (6-3, 7-6) in 2025.
Finally, while he also equaled Federer's first streak of 29 consecutive indoor victories (2010-2012), the native of San Candido does not seem ready to stop there.
