Following his serious Achilles tendon injury sustained during his semifinal match in Stockholm against Ugo Humbert, Holger Rune provided an update in a post on Instagram.

He states: "It will take some time before I can return to a court. It's tough. I enjoyed playing in Stockholm so much that the thought of not feeling that energy for a while is unbearable.

My Achilles tendon is completely torn in its proximal part, which means I need to have surgery as early as next week, followed by rehabilitation. Thank you for your support, today and always. Without you, nothing would be the same. See you very soon.
