On Sunday, Italy won the Davis Cup for the second year running. Thanks to victories by Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner, the Squadra Azzurra triumphed over the Netherlands.
A double that had not been achieved in the competition since the Czech Republic (2012, 2013). The title comes a week after the girls' victory at the Billie Jean King Cup.
Italian team captain Filippo Volandri told Punto De Break: "There are many things Italian tennis has done well, but I don't have enough time to talk about them in detail.
Everything worked very well. We have good players, both men's and women's," he begins.
"The Italian Tennis Federation is working incredibly hard and we've managed to achieve these successes. It's a lot of things.
The boys are not only good players, they are also very good people. We're very proud of them.
We have a technical staff who have worked with them from an early age, with their coaches and their families," he concluded.
