Volandri, captain of the Italian Davis Cup team, on Sinner's doping affair: "The greatest injustice in history".
Despite having achieved an outstanding 2024 season and clearly being the best tennis player on the planet, Jannik Sinner is still under pressure. The verdict of the appeal requested by the World Anti-Doping Agency is expected in January, and the risk of a suspension for the world number 1 is real.
Interviewed by the Italian press, Filipo Volandri, captain of the Italian Davis Cup team, seems to fear a sanction that he is already denouncing as an historic injustice: "I don't even want to think about a possible disqualification of Sinner, given his honesty and the irrefutable evidence he has provided.
But if there's one person with broad shoulders, it's Jannik. A disqualification would be the greatest injustice in history."
