Present in Milan for a padel tournament final, Adriano Panatta gave his opinion on current tennis.
Italian champion Adriano Panatta, winner of Roland-Garros in 1976, was present at the Allianz Cloud in Milan to attend the final of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 tournament. When asked about modern tennis, he stated:
"Back in the day, I used to volley a lot. Today, there are few people who know how to play well at the net. People like John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Yannick Noah, Stefan Edberg... All those players have disappeared."
A blessed era for Panatta, who seems to miss a more daring and instinctive style of tennis.
