Djokovic Withdraws from Paris Masters 1000: Bonzi Replaces Serbian Legend in the Draw

A seven-time champion of the tournament, Novak Djokovic will skip the Paris Masters 1000 next week.

A semifinalist at the Shanghai Masters 1000, Djokovic recently competed in the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Riyadh, where he was defeated just short of the final by Jannik Sinner.

Although he had already stated he was unsure about playing the ATP Finals, the Serbian will definitely not be in the French capital next week. The 38-year-old player has withdrawn from the Paris Masters 1000.

Djokovic has triumphed seven times in this tournament (2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021, and 2023), and he won his last Masters 1000 title in Paris two years ago. At that time, he managed to defeat Grigor Dimitrov to claim his 40th title in this tournament category, an absolute record.

However, he will not be present for the first edition held at La Défense Arena. This withdrawal benefits a French player, as Benjamin Bonzi enters the main draw without having to go through the qualifying rounds.

Djokovic becomes the fifth player to officially withdraw from the 2025 edition of the Paris tournament, following Jack Draper, Holger Rune, Frances Tiafoe, and Gaël Monfils.
