"I dedicate this title to my wife who gave me the most beautiful gift," Medvedev's speech after his 2022 Vienna title

In 2022, Daniil Medvedev won his second title of the season, and the 15th of his career, at the ATP 500 in Vienna.
After a run that saw him defeat Nikoloz Basilashvili (6-2, 6-2), Dominic Thiem (6-3, 6-3), Jannik Sinner (6-4, 6-2) and Grigor Dimitrov (6-4, 6-2), the Russian then dominated Denis Shapovalov (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the final to claim the title in the Austrian capital.
During the trophy ceremony, Medvedev, who was 26 years old at the time, mentioned his wife Daria, who had given birth to their first child, Alisa, on October 14, 2022.
Two weeks later, her husband won the title in Vienna, and he had a thought for his wife when thanking the tournament organizers on the podium.
"I dedicate this title to my wife who gave me the most beautiful gift. I witnessed the birth, it's a greater emotion than winning any title (he concludes with a message in Russian for his wife).
Thank you everyone," he then concluded to applause from the spectators. In early 2025, before the Australian Open, Medvedev became a father for the second time to a baby girl named Victoria.
