10 Wins Against Top 100 Players, Jacquemot Shows Major Improvement in 2025
Young French player Elsa Jacquemot has shown significant progress in the 2025 season. A recent quarterfinalist in Cleveland, she also reached the third round at Roland-Garros and made it to the second round at Wimbledon after coming through the qualifying rounds.
Facing Bouzkova (No. 44) in her opening match at the US Open, Jacquemot delivered another strong performance against a top 50 player (6-4, 6-3). This result brings the 22-year-old’s record against top 100 players this season to 10 wins and 10 losses.
For comparison, that’s more than her entire career total up until the end of 2024, where she had 7 wins and 31 losses.
To advance to the third round, she will face a tough challenge against 2021 finalist Leylah Fernandez (No. 30). It’s worth noting that the Canadian won the WTA 500 event in Washington earlier in the US hardcourt swing.
