€20 million for a tennis club in Greece: Djokovic's new project
Novak Djokovic is still going strong. At 38 years old, the Serbian is ranked 4th in the world. A semi-finalist in all Grand Slam tournaments this season, he also played in the final of the Miami Masters 1000. That's not all, as the former world number 1 has entered the very exclusive circle of players who have reached (and then surpassed) the milestone of 100 career titles. Victorious in Geneva in May and then in Athens in November, Djokovic has written yet another chapter in tennis history.
A €20 million project for Djokovic in Athens?
For several weeks, Djokovic has been living with his family in Greece, before winning the title in the capital Athens to conclude his year with a victory against Lorenzo Musetti in the final. Now acclimated to his new life, the man with 24 Major titles reportedly already has plans in mind for the country, at least according to local media sources, and particularly Tennis 24.
Indeed, according to the source, Djokovic has reportedly agreed to invest in the creation of a tennis club in Ellinikon, a small town south of Athens currently engaged in a major urban redevelopment project and set to build modern and eco-friendly facilities in the coming years. The Serbian could thus spend €20 million to bring the tennis club to life.
