Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz delivered a high-intensity rally during their match at the 2024 ATP Finals.

The spectators were on their feet. After 29 shots and a paw strike, the Australian put an end to an exceptional rally during the group stage of the Turin Masters last year.

A spectacular point, symbolic of the duel that took place at the Inalpi Arena that day. Result: a victory for the American after three sets (5-7, 6-4, 6-3) and 2 hours and 8 minutes of play.

For your information, the two men were evenly matched for the majority of the encounter, as shown by the statistics: 26 winners on both sides, six aces each, around thirty unforced errors each, and six break points created each.

What's next? After this success, Taylor Fritz went on to play against Zverev (6-3, 3-6, 7-6) before stumbling against Sinner in the final (6-4, 6-4).

Taylor Fritz

Jannik Sinner

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
