La joueuse lettone de 26 ans vient de remporter la 33e édition du WTA 500 de Linz, succédant ainsi à Anastasia Potapova (27e mondiale). En finale, Jeļena Ostapenko s'est imposée sur la score de 6/3, 6/2 face à Ekaterina Alexandrova, tête de série numéro 2 du tournoi.

Après n'avoir concédé qu'un seul set de tout le tournoi face à la Danoise Clara Tauson (80e mondiale) en 8e de finale, Jeļena Ostapenko décroche son deuxième titre en 2024 après le tournoi d'Adélaïde le 13 janvier dernier.

Ces derniers résultats lui permettent de se classer à 50 points de l'actuelle 10e mondiale, Karolina Muchová. Pour rappel, le meilleur classement de la Lettone est une 5e place mondiale, atteinte le 19/03/2018.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.
