A New Zverev?": His First Round in Beijing Impresses and Sparks Discussion

Alexander Zverev regained his brilliance during his debut in Beijing. Naomi Broady, a consultant for Sky Sports, even mentioned the idea of a "new Zverev," more aggressive and conquering.
Easily defeating Lorenzo Sonego (6-4, 6-3) in his opening match in Beijing, Alexander Zverev reassured after his two lackluster performances in the Laver Cup last week.
The German, who had admitted to receiving injections after the US Open, rediscovered his brilliance on the center court in Beijing. A performance praised in the Sky Sports commentary by former player Naomi Broady, who noticed some positive changes in Zverev's game:
"I don't know if he would like us to say it was a new Zverev. He would certainly respond that the old one was already good enough. But it's the smallest possible change that will have a major impact on his game.
This is undoubtedly the direction we want to see him evolve in, with more aggressiveness. It was a superb performance from Zverev. I notice the points won at the net: 16/23. He must be thrilled with that. He also dominated the baseline rallies, with 28 in his favor compared to 20 for Sonego.
It's one thing to say: 'This is what I need to do,' to have that honest conversation with yourself. But it's another to come back and deliver such a performance.
