Alcaraz Already Out of the Race for World Number One This Season?

Carlos Alcaraz will have to fight hard if he wants to overtake Jannik Sinner in the ATP rankings. Despite the Italian's suspension until the Rome Masters, it will be difficult for Alcaraz to become world number one by then.
The Spaniard has many points to defend during this period and will need to win the next three Masters tournaments (Miami, Monte-Carlo, and Madrid) as well as Barcelona. Only in this way could he reach 10,010 points compared to the 9,730 points that Jannik is sure to retain.
Moreover, he lost 600 points this week to his rival. Starting Monday, the Spaniard will be more than 4,000 points behind the Italian.
Finally, 'Carlitos' will have two Grand Slam titles to defend: Roland-Garros and Wimbledon (4,000 points). The race for the top spot could therefore be decided during the American tour this summer.
