For more than a decade, prize money in tennis has increased significantly, not only for the world’s top players but also for others. A clear example is the staggering amount the US Open will pay for its 2025 edition ($90 million in prize money alone).

While these amounts already seem very high, they actually represent only a small portion of what athletes, or at least the stars, earn in a season. Indeed, sponsors contribute the majority of their personal wealth.

To give an idea, the Spaniard Alcaraz receives $35 million from advertising deals alone. As for his rival, Sinner, he earns slightly less, with $27 million. Next, rounding out the podium is the American Gauff with $25 million, alongside the Serbian legend Djokovic.

Complete list of the 10 highest-paid tennis players in 2025:

1. Carlos Alcaraz: $48.3 million total (sport: $13.3, sponsors: $35)

2. Jannik Sinner: $47.3 million total (sport: $20.3, sponsors: $27)

3. Coco Gauff: $37.2 million total (sport: $12.2, sponsors: $25)

4. Novak Djokovic: $29.6 million total (sport: $4.6, sponsors: $25)

5. Aryna Sabalenka: $27.4 million total (sport: $12.4, sponsors: $15)

6. Qinwen Zheng: $26.1 million total (sport: $5.1, sponsors: $21)

7. Iga Swiatek: $24 million total (sport: $9, sponsors: $15)

8. Taylor Fritz: $15.6 million total (sport: $8.6, sponsors: $7)

9. Frances Tiafoe: $15.2 million total (sport: $3.2, sponsors: $12)

10. Daniil Medvedev: $14.3 million total (sport: $4.3, sponsors: $10)

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
