Alcaraz defeats Arthur Fils in a hard-fought match and advances to the semifinals in Monte-Carlo

Alcaraz won in three sets against Arthur Fils (6-4, 7-5, 6-3) in a tightly contested match, securing his spot in the semifinals in Monte-Carlo.
After a first set dominated by the Frenchman, Arthur Fils showed promising play in his third Masters 1000 quarterfinal. However, after a highly physical match, Fils missed several key opportunities, including seven break points in the second set.
The Spaniard gradually regained control, significantly raising his level of play in the third set.
"I'm very proud of this win—he really played some great tennis. At times, he made mistakes, and I tried to take advantage of that. Physically, I managed to keep up the pace. It was very close.
We’ll definitely face each other more than once. I’m really happy for him, and if he keeps working at this level, I’m sure he’ll go very far," Alcaraz told Eurosport.
Alcaraz will face Davidovich Fokina in the semifinals.
